Don’t have any problem areas? Just want to relax? This gentle Swedish massage helps to improve circulation and release muscle tension. Long, slow strokes are used with light pressure to put you in a Zen-like state.

Our signature therapeutic massage targets specific areas to release chronic patterns of tension. Each massage is tailored to your individual needs, problem areas, and goals making this massage perfect for everyone.

To fix or prevent health issues, cupping practitioners apply cups to your skin to create a pressure that sucks your skin inward. The pressure that the cups create draws blood to the affected area, increasing your blood flow overall. That increased blood flow can relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation.

A gentle, yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress. It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. This therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Reiki is alleged to aid relaxation, assist in the body's natural healing processes, and develop emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It is also said to induce deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, relieve emotional stress, and improve overall well-being.

A gently pampering massage honoring mothers-to-be. Specially designed to alleviate tension and aches, this massage promotes overall health and well being throughout pregnancy and after.  Mommy and baby must be in good health and in at least their second trimester.

Facial rejuvenation is a process that helps fight aging by addressing unwanted expression lines, dehydration, and poor circulation on the face. The suction cupping strengthens the dermis of the face which helps increase collagen production which improves elasticity.

This is perhaps the most important rule of all.  Hydration is key to a healthy body, especially after a massage.  Since massage promotes lymphatic movement, drinking water and hydrating yourself is key to moving toxins through the kidneys and out of the body.  Drinking water is the best way to do this – and no, water in tea, coffee and soft drinks doesn’t count!
You may feel tired, as if you want to lie down and take a nap. This is completely normal, and you should listen to your body. If you can, make sure you have nowhere to go and nothing to do after your massage. Massage is not just work on the body; it is work on the mind too. It helps to de-stress and relax you; this in turn may make you feel tired. This is your time to recover your mind and body and it is your body’s time to re-balance itself and re-tune.
A nice warm bath is very soothing after a massage, particularly with Epsom Salts. Epsom Salts are just Magnesium Sulfate, which is a natural muscle relaxer. They are also wonderful at drawing out toxins in the body, as is massage, so you may get a sort of detoxifying effect which is very beneficial to the body. Well sell Epsom Salts at the Spa in all kinds of scents!
Sometimes, if you have been experiencing lots of stress, you may feel the need to cry after the massage. Alternatively, you may feel elated, on cloud nine, full of energy. Either response is normal. The key is not to try to keep these emotions out. The massage may channel these feelings and multiply them; whichever way, this is what the body needs. Let it come and you will feel that much better afterward.
You may be sore after the massage. This is normal with Deep Tissue massage, but it can happen with the more gentle Swedish Massage as well. Sometimes you may not feel the soreness until the next day. Why? Massage is a sort of passive exercise. If you are not one to get massages often, or do not exercise and are not used to using the muscles, then they may respond with soreness. This should only last for a day or perhaps two. You can help your therapist by stretching before you arrive for your session. Remember anything that was particularly painful and report this to your therapist at your next visit. The therapist will be open to what you are saying and will tailor your visit from the information they receive from you.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling us at 262.408.7597.

Not at the same time as we do only have ONE massage therapist, but we can accommodate couples massage appointments when combined with other services.

Here, at A Better Me, we only have one female massage therapist. Her name is Sheri and she is amazing!

Your bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.  Lighting and temperature in the treatment rooms are also adjustable to fit your personal liking.

If you are a new client, please be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to have time to fill out a health history form without cutting into any of your actual massage time.

The massage therapist will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on and if there are any conditions needing to be addressed.

She will then leave the treatment room for you to have privacy while getting ready for your session and she will knock on the door before she comes in. Once she is in the room, she will make any necessary adjustments for your comfort before beginning the session. Feel free to ask any questions that may come up for you.

The therapist will uncover only the part of the body being massaged, ensuring that modesty is respected at all times. Upon completion of your session, the therapist will leave the room for your privacy when you to get dressed and gather your belongings.

After, a conversation about your session will take place and any questions you may have or suggestions from Sheri can be discussed at this time.

The amount of pressure we apply is entirely up to you. Your therapist, we will be asking frequently about the level of pressure to make sure it’s comfortable for you. The goal of every massage is to ease your pain and stress, so the more we communicate, the better the outcome will be for you.

Depending on the primary technique Sheri uses, you may or may not need to undress. For a full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. Sheri will give you privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.

We require booking appointments in advance.  Our online booking tool is easily accessible, but should not be used for booking within a 2 hour period of the desired appointment time. Contact the Spa directly by phone.

Make yourself comfortable. If Sheri wants you to adjust your position, she will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.

It’s quite common for people to fall asleep during relaxing massages. Massage therapists typically take this as a compliment and a sign that they’re providing maximum relaxation to their clients. Enjoy your massage experience and don’t expect yourself to stay awake and alert at all times. Many clients allow their bodies and minds to “reset” in deeply relaxing states.

Absolutely! You are always in control of your massage therapy session. Feel free to ask your practitioner to pause or stop your massage if you’re uncomfortable with any aspect of this treatment.

You should always feel free to express any discomfort when undergoing a massage. However, avoid intense chatting with your massage therapist during your session; this can lead to increased muscular tension and limit the effectiveness of your massage experience.

While it is not an obligation to give your massage therapist a gratuity, it is always appreciated.  Gratuities can be given at the time of payment or, if you care to be more discrete, can be left in the treatment room for Sheri after the session.

For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.

No.  Receiving massage therapy while battling a cold or influenza is never a good idea.  Not only can you easily spread illness to our therapist (who is seeing several other clients per day), but you can also exasperate your symptoms by receiving massage. If you do come in while ill, our therapist may choose to reschedule your session.  Know that this is for your well-being and the health of our therapists and other clients.
