Cupping therapy is a method that uses negative pressure and creates suction. This therapy releases rigid soft tissue, drains excess fluids and toxins, loosens adhesions by lifting connective tissues, and brings blood flow to stagnant skin and muscles. After receiving Cupping Therapy people often report that the experience stays with them longer than most treatments, and the effects of the tissue is truly amazing.
BENEFITS THE FOLLOWING
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. This therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.
CranioSacral therapy seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and can decrease stress from chronic injuries as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.
Reiki, (pronounced Rey-Key), is an energy healing technique developed in Japan by Mikao Usui. Reiki is a Japanese word that means: “Spiritual or Sacred Energy.” We are alive because life force is flowing through us and around us. Also known as Prana or Qi, Life force flows within the physical body through pathways called Nadis, Meridians and Chakras. This is known as our Subtle Energy Body System and includes 4 layers: Physical, Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual. This life force system nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions.
A gently pampering massage honoring new mothers and mothers-to-be. Specially designed to alleviate tension and aches, this massage promotes overall health and well being throughout pregnancy and after. Mommy and baby must be in good health and in at least their second trimester.
Facial rejuvenation is a process that helps fight aging by addressing unwanted expression lines, dehydration, and poor circulation on the face. The suction cupping strengthens the dermis of the face which helps increase collagen production which improves elasticity. It also breaks up facial scar tissue (deep wrinkles), reduces swelling, detoxifies, and makes a youthful appearance without Botox. This treatment is most beneficial every 3 to 5 days in sessions of 6 to 12 times depending upon your condition.
At A Better Me, we invite you to customize your experience by adding our unique massage enhancements. Our enhanced therapies are available as an add-on to any massage session and make for even more relief and relaxation. Choose from these add-ons to perfect your treatment.
Add a scent of your choice to customize your massage! When combined with massage techniques, aromatherapy can provide an additional level of relaxation and healing. Inhaled scents may work on guests’ minds and emotions to encourage relaxation and stress release. When rubbed into the skin, massage oils containing essential oils (in proper balance) can provide potent relief from pain and inflammation.
People who experience depression may see improvements when adding aromatherapy massage to their current regimes of psychotherapy and medication. The brain areas responsible for scent, emotion, and memory are closely related. Experts believe certain aromas trigger positive memories and feelings and may contribute to anxiety relief. Everyone has different personal associations with various scents. This, coupled with a certain level of belief in aromatherapy treatments, helps determine the amount of healing a particular person may experience. Researchers have conducted a number of clinical studies on aromatherapy. They’ve found that essential oils have a positive effect on many people, especially pregnant women (who may not be able to use other forms of relief).
Smooth, heated river stones are used in conjunction with massage techniques to release tension and promote relaxation. The energy of the stones warms the tissues, which allows the massage therapists to work deeper with ease. Pressure can range from a light relaxation massage to deeper focus work depending on your goals and desires.
The new CBD Oil Massage is done using oil containing Cannabidiol (CBD). It is one of the most important healing substances in the hemp plant with a strong anti-inflammatory effect without a psychotropic (narcotic) effect. CBD hemp oil can work against convulsions, anxiety, insomnia, neuropathic pain and ulcers.
A Better Me is carrying a 100% pure CBD Organic Hemp oil. You can choose a CBD oil add-on to any of your Massages. Our Massage Therapist, Sheri usually measures CBD oil in 10 MG dosages (you can choose to add up to 50 MG per massage topically). The oil is 100% pure and extracted from Organic Hemp Plant. You can even purchase a full bottle of your own use instead of purchasing by one dose each time you get a massage.
*These benefits are known by the folk wisdom. Benefits are not guaranteed for every one from CBD Oil Massage or CBD Organic Hemp Oil use. Results may vary by person due to every one being an individual with different lifestyle choices and genetic make up. Not evaluated by the FDA.

After receiving a massage, there are a number of actions a client can take to get the most benefit out of the session. Always remember, if you have any questions regarding massage aftercare, please feel free to contact us at the Spa.
This is perhaps the most important rule of all. Hydration is key to a healthy body, especially after a massage. Since massage promotes lymphatic movement, drinking water and hydrating yourself is key to moving toxins through the kidneys and out of the body. Drinking water is the best way to do this – and no, water in tea, coffee and soft drinks doesn’t count!
Take A Bath – A nice warm bath is very soothing after a massage, particularly with Epsom Salts. Epsom Salts are just Magnesium Sulfate, which is a natural muscle relaxer. They are also wonderful at drawing out toxins in the body, as is massage, so you may get a sort of detoxifying effect which is very beneficial to the body. Well sell Epsom Salts at the Spa in all kinds of scents!
Sometimes, if you have been experiencing lots of stress, you may feel the need to cry after the massage. Alternatively, you may feel elated, on cloud nine, full of energy. Either response is normal. The key is not to try to keep these emotions out. The massage may channel these feelings and multiply them; whichever way, this is what the body needs. Let it come and you will feel that much better afterward.
Rest – You may feel tired, as if you want to lie down and take a nap. This is completely normal, and you should listen to your body. If you can, make sure you have nowhere to go and nothing to do after your massage. Massage is not just work on the body; it is work on the mind too. It helps to de-stress and relax you; this in turn may make you feel tired. This is your time to recover your mind and body and it is your body’s time to re-balance itself and re-tune. Don’t feel like you SHOULD be doing something. Make time for yourself and your body will thank you.
You may be sore after the massage. This is normal with Deep Tissue massage, but it can happen with the more gentle Swedish Massage as well. Sometimes you may not feel the soreness until the next day. Why? Massage is a sort of passive exercise. If you are not one to get massages often, or do not exercise and are not used to using the muscles, then they may respond with soreness. This should only last for a day or perhaps two. You can help your therapist by stretching before you arrive for your session. Remember anything that was particularly painful and report this to your therapist at your next visit. The therapist will be open to what you are saying and will tailor your visit from the information they receive from you.
Everybody is a little different, so to obtain the best results, it’s important to consider regular sessions. Some people elect to come every week, whereas some visit every month or so to help ward off the various pressures of the body. Stress (whether physical, mental, or emotional) wreaks havoc on the body, and the sooner you can catch it in its tracks, the better you’ll feel on all levels.

Appointments can be scheduled by calling us at 262.408.7597.
Here, at A Better Me, we only have one female massage therapist. Her name is Sheri and she is amazing!
Your bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music will be played to help you relax. You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort. Lighting and temperature in the treatment rooms are also adjustable to fit your personal liking.
Our massage therapist will require you to fill out a health history form.
If you are a new client, please be sure to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to have time to fill out this form without cutting into any of your actual massage time.
If you are a returning client, please show up 10 minutes before your appointment time to go through proper assessment and a thorough intake. This ensures beginning the session on time and having the full time on the table.
Our massage therapist, Sheri, will begin by asking you general questions to establish what areas you would like worked on, if there are any conditions needing to be addressed and to determine if massage is appropriate for you. She may perform certain assessments and testing to evaluate your condition.
She will then leave the treatment room for you to have privacy while getting ready for your session. She will knock on the door before she comes in. Once she is in the room, she will make any necessary adjustments for your comfort before beginning the session. Feel free to ask any questions that may come up for you.
At the end of the session, feel free to take a moment on the table to stretch and “come back into your body”. Once you are up and dressed, your massage therapist will have a glass of water waiting for you. A conversation about your session will take place in your treatment room and any questions you may have or suggestions from Sheri can be discussed at this time.
The amount of pressure we apply is entirely up to you. Your therapist, we will be asking frequently about the level of pressure to make sure it’s comfortable for you. The goal of every massage is to ease your pain and stress, so the more we communicate, the better the outcome will be for you.
Depending on the primary technique Sheri uses, you may or may not need to undress. For a full body massage, most people undress completely. However, you may choose to wear underwear. Sheri will give you privacy to undress, and you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times except the area being worked on.
Not at the same time as we do only have ONE massage therapist, but we can accommodate couples massage appointments when combined with other services.
Make yourself comfortable. If Sheri wants you to adjust your position, she will either move you or will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions at any time.
It’s quite common for people to fall asleep during relaxing massages. Massage therapists typically take this as a compliment and a sign that they’re providing maximum relaxation to their clients. Enjoy your massage experience and don’t expect yourself to stay awake and alert at all times. Many clients allow their bodies and minds to “reset” in deeply relaxing states.
Absolutely! You are always in control of your massage therapy session. Feel free to ask your practitioner to pause or stop your massage if you’re uncomfortable with any aspect of this treatment.
You should always feel free to express any discomfort when undergoing a massage. However, avoid intense chatting with your massage therapist during your session; this can lead to increased muscular tension and limit the effectiveness of your massage experience.
While it is not an obligation to give your massage therapist a gratuity, it is always appreciated. Gratuities can be given at the time of payment or, if you care to be more discrete, can be left in the treatment room for Sheri after the session.
For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life. There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief.
No. Receiving massage therapy while battling a cold or influenza is never a good idea. Not only can you easily spread illness to our therapist (who is seeing several other clients per day), but you can also exasperate your symptoms by receiving massage. If you do come in while ill, our therapist may choose to reschedule your session. Know that this is for your well-being and the health of our therapists and other clients.
